Immunotherapy for hay fever

For severe hay fever that medication doesn't control, immunotherapy can retrain the immune system to react less to pollen.

You're given gradually increasing, controlled doses of the allergen (as tablets under the tongue or injections) over about three years, reducing sensitivity over time.

People with severe, persistent hay fever — often grass-pollen driven — that isn't controlled by antihistamines and nasal sprays. It's not a quick fix; it's a multi-year treatment.

Accessing it in the UK
